Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is training with his squad.
Valdes has been without a club since June after deciding to leave Camp Nou at the conclusion of his contract.
The 32-year-old was expected to have his pick of a new club, but a serious knee injury suffered in March left him without a team for the start of the 2014/15 season.
Valdes will now finish his rehabilitation with United, who will also offer him the chance to get back to full fitness.
An statement on the club's official website read: "Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has offered the 32-year-old former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes a chance to complete his rehabilitation from a knee injury and to work his way back to fitness with the club.
"Valdes, a free agent, will have his recovery supervised by the United medical staff before training with the first team, as he bids to regain full fitness."
