Based on its social responsibility initiatives, KIA Motors Nigeria recently donated a 42 inch LCD TV and a DVD player to Ansarudeen Girls High School, Itire, Lagos and presented gifts to the school’s football team.
Last year, the company provided the school’s team with sport kits and it financial assistance, which went a long way in helping the team to win the state championship.
This year’s donation of the gift items coincided with the grand finale of the KIA Cup tournament, which was held at the school.
Presenting the gifts, the chief commercial officer, KIA Motors Nigeria, Mr. Sandeep Malhotra said, “Our company’s good corporate citizenship has helped in attaining greater heights and the success of KIA’s brand in Nigeria. Corporate Social Responsibility is germane to everything we do. After all, every product we offer to the public is a representation of our brand, so both its environmental and ethical impact, matter to us.”
Sandeep said, “We value and respect the communities where we operate and are proud to call these places home. It’s important to leave an environmental footprint that has lasting impact in the regions that we depend on. This sense of purpose has enabled us to conduct sustainable operations for over a decade, and we pledge to continue this practice for years to come.”
Elated by the contributions made by KIA Motors Nigeria to the school, the Principal, Ansarudeen Girls High School, Mrs. Yusuf, commended the company’s efforts and financial commitment for getting actively involved in the drive towards developing sport in the school and encouraging the school with material and moral support.
“KIA has remained a brand that people trust. When it unveils product, people express confidence and accept it. It’s inventive and aesthetically creative models have continuously increased its market share over the years.
“Importantly the company’s corporate social responsibility program is central to its business success. Most successful companies in the world have an integrated CSR policy, and KIA would not like to be left behind in the social call.”
