Heritage Bank Launches ‘SkoolBank’ Savings Account

Heritage Bank Limited has launched a proposition to empower the entire school community.

The product tagged: ‘SkoolBank’ according to the bank, is part of its vision to transform the education landscape of the nation and prepare a generation that is well armed to meet the highly technical challenges of the next century on a global territory.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the launch of the scheme in Lagos, the Executive Director, Ivory Banking, Heritage Bank, Mrs. Mary Akpobome said the scheme is about providing innovative initiatives for the entire educational community in Nigeria.
According to her, the education community includes students, teachers, schools, contractors and others in the education value chain.

“This initiative by Heritage Bank is value for each member of the community where everybody has something to benefit. Clearly, just as people have challenges, parents also have financial challenges in terms of the needs of their children.

“You have a child in school, something happens and the parents falls into some financial challenges, you wouldn’t want the child to be out of school. So, we are always available to the parents to be able to take care of the fees of their children.

“What we have also set up is a life insurance for the parents, such that if anything happens to the parents that should not be a reason for the child to be out of school.”

However, she pointed out that the product is only for customers of the bank.

“There is no way anyone that is not a customer of the bank can benefit from it because basically if you are not banking with Heritage Bank, It would be difficult for us to extend any of these value propositions to such person.

“At Heritage Bank we are constantly asking ourselves questions about where banking is going to be in few years down the line and how can we actualise that now. We strive to do things differently daily,” she added.
