Logistics business is sometimes fraught with risk if measures are not taken to reduce factors that can lead to ugly incidences.
This advice was given by the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Coscharis Mobility Limited-Sixt International transport and Logistics Company, Mr. Chigbundu Christian Chiemezuolam.
He said, “If you do logistics without professionalism, then there is bound to be a higher risk. We are doing our business with a high level of professionalism, technology and that has reduced our risks. I can tell you we don’t have risks, but we minimise our risks.”

Chigbundu said the Sixt brand is also known globally for high standard, but that “again there is always risk because any business without risk is not worth it.”
According to him, Sixt is the only car rental company in the world that has a haulage arm, adding that Cocharis’ haulage system would be in line with global standard.
He said Coscharis Mobility has over 500 vehicles in its fleet and that they send customer service reports to Sixt weekly and that they meet on quarterly bases.
He said Sixt is known for three systems; chauffeur-drive and self-drive and then haulage, explaining that “we are the only rental company that do that in Nigeria; you can come and rent a car today and either drive yourself or we get you a driver.
Chigbundu said they are doing all that Sixt and other rental companies do outside of Nigeria but that the only thing that they have not started is car rental online.
On what the company is doing differently, he said “We try as much as possible to make our customers happy. You get a personal contact from the general manager. You get a platinum card that guarantees you benefits world-wide and we can book a car for you anywhere in the world through the Sixt platform. Also, we are partnering with so many airlines and hotels.”
He said they have a product called Sixt School Run, which is a platform used to convey children to and from school. “You don’t have to buy another car and get a driver to do that for you.”
These cars, he said are tracked and those who rent them or the parents will be able to know where the driver, adding that they want to do the things that other rentals are not doing.
“You can book a car on phone and we will bring it to you. We were the sole rental company that handled the Economic Summit in Abuja and the conference of the Nigeria Bar Association conference, recently,” he said.
The drivers are trained on quarterly basis and they are able to drive all vehicles in the Coscharis Group. They have premium cars in the fleet and they do not brand the car, only the trucks are branded.
