A senior bank manager, who allegedly runs an armed robbery gang, has been arrested along with two members of his gang for attempting to rob a bank in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Parading the suspects before newsmen, the police spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu said the arrested members of the gang, confessed that their brother who is a staff of the bank, hired them to rob the bank as he told them that a huge amount of money would be transferred from the bank to Ellu village.
The suspects further confessed that the bank worker advised them to ambush the clerk on the road and rob him of the money that would be on transit.
She further said, “The suspects have been charged to court for conspiracy and attempted armed robbery” adding that “a battle axe and other items were recovered from the suspects.”
