How to Make Your Employees Perform Better In the Office

Like a machine, business needs to work properly. If one piece malfunctions, the whole machine is useless. Employees are considered as the machine pieces of businesses.
Like a machine, business needs to work properly. If one piece malfunctions, the whole machine is useless.  Employees are considered as the machine pieces of businesses. For the business to prosper, the employees should be ‘well-oiled’ and function well. There are circumstances wherein employees encounter difficulties which could affect their performance. To avoid such problems and to boost their productivity, here are some tips that you can use on your employees:

1.    Encourage them to speak out their problems and concerns.
Keeping problems to themselves is tantamount to carrying a huge load on your shoulders and it bogs you down. Motivate your employees to share their problems and concerns not only with work, but with their personal life as well. They may not know or realize it but any type of problems can cause them to perform poorly at work which is something that you need to get rid of. They may share it with a supervisor, close coworker or anyone who is willing to understand and listen.

 2.    Set a challenging goal for them.
By setting an objective, the employees will learn how to work harder and concentrate more to attain the goal. Some offices establish certain goals for the company as a whole, for each department and for individual employees. Setting a goal will give direction and a time frame for the employees to work on.

3.    Cheer them up with positive feedback.
For example, if your telemarketer was able to reach their monthly quota, show your appreciation by telling them that he did a good job. It boosts anyone’s ego when they are being valued for the efforts they have made. This will definitely entice them to improve their performance and let them strive more to do better in the near future. If you have an employee who achieved something, make it a point to appreciate them and recognize their efforts.

4.    On top of providing them positive feedback for a job well done, why not give them a reward?
As we all know, the reward or point system is popular and considered as very effective not only for kids, but for office employees as well. If your employee reaches their goal for the month, you can treat them with a gift certificate from their favorite restaurant or give them cash incentive. It doesn’t have to be too grand, what matters is the fact that you show how grateful you are for all the efforts they exerted.

5.    Seminars and trainings.
Seminars and trainings about the latest innovation in technology will also help employees and the company to get more ideas on how modern advancement can help them with their processes. For example, if your office just started using a RingCentral Internet fax, make sure that the employees are well informed with the use of such method. Since this will help improve their performance, see to it that every single worker is readily able to operate it anytime.

6.    Be a supportive and considerate employer or supervisor.
When one makes a mistake, don’t reprimand them immediately. Instead, talk to them regarding their mistake and encourage them to do better the next time. Scolding someone especially in front of other people will surely embarrass the person. This adds unnecessary stress to them. This may also lead to depression that can affect their performance. By inspiring and understanding your people, you are actually giving them a chance to be better and more efficient.

7.    Good relationship.
A good relationship between employees can certainly foster overall performance at the office. It is considered as one of the important aspects in having a successful company. One way of building trust and friendship among employees is through team building activities. By doing this, the workers will get to know each other and eventually learn about their strengths or weaknesses which is very significant.
